There are many benefits to becoming a member of AP. First, and the most important, it illustrates the commonality of the cycling community; it
shows our numbers; it gives us a powerful pedaling voice. I've always said there are two commonalities of all cycilsts: there is an innate
connection between people who ride the bicycle and once you have cycling in your blood, you can't get it out . . . even years after you have "retired" from cycling, you will eventually return to this lifelong activity.
The other commonality is how we treat each other. Whether it be Lori-Ann's wheels provided by her competition or a tourist cyclist who stops and helps out someone with a flat tire: cyclists are a rare bred of person; cyclists form a rare community.
Of course, the more tangile benefits are: you can submit any Atlantic Canada bicycle event (recreational, tours, multi-sport, meetings, or races) for free and you can keep in touch in other cyclists and the news that matters.
Lastly, although the site is tailored for Atlantic Canadians, everyone from across the world is welcome to join and contribute as best you see fit.

It has taken a lot of my "spare" time to create this site. I want to thank so many of you for encouraging me along the way and providing guidance on the development of the site and keeping the philosophy of "all bicycling is valued" in the forefront. |
