Riding in the Heat - Dehydration vs. Hyponatremia

Struggling through a long ride as the temperature topped out at 100 this weekend, I had to keep reminding myself to do something that woefully few health experts emphasize sufficiently – stay salinated. Oops, you’re saying to yourself, he clearly means “stay hydrated”. No, I really mean stay salinated. Dehydration has become the bogeyman that most sports health practitioners harp about, but in my very humble opinion, hyponatremia is the greater risk by far.
