Cycling dangerous in Moncton

To The Editor:

This is my second summer cycling, mainly in the downtown Moncton area, and this year there seems to be a lot more cyclists on our streets, which is a good thing, right?

No, wrong! Because there are very few streets with bike lanes and we sometimes have to ride our bikes on the sidewalks. Why? Because it is too dangerous to go on the pavement, especially when we are on a four-lane street.

And when we dare to go on a two-lane city street, we have to watch for drains, debris and the curbs themselves. The city administrators are fully aware of this and still very little has been done.
