There are many benefits to becoming a member of AP. First, and the most important, it illustrates the commonality of the cycling community; it shows our numbers; it gives us a powerful pedaling voice. I've always said there are two commonalities of all cycilsts: (1) there is an innate connection between people who ride the bicycle and (2) once you have cycling in your blood, you can't get it out . . . even years after you have "retired" from cycling, you will eventually return to this lifelong activity.

A MOVEMENT
AP is as much a community website as it is a bicycling movement. It is a movement both physically and politically. By registering as a member, you are sending the message that you either are a cyclist or a person who is interested in cycling issues. This AP movement has less to do with the division of cycling discplines, but the belief that cycling is the common. I also believe that the bicycle is the solution to a number of environmental and health issues. Seeing the number of other people who are involved in bicycilng helps to bring this lifelong activity out of the shadows and into the forefront of a healthy activity that many
people are engaging in.

CONNECTION
It is possible to connect. Take this as an example, you live in Moncton and will be travelling to PEI for your vacation. You are interested in riding with someone. With AP, you can search for cyclists who live in
PEI and then send emails to these riders.

POST ITEMS
Whether you wish to publish a story, a news item, bicycle event, or an original article, as a member, you are able to contribute to the movement.

Our front page is designed as a type of news feed system. You can see the latest article submissions as well as the latest news submitted, broken down by province.

AP will not add your name to a mailing list (other than AP's own mailing list) but you have the opportunity to subscribe / unsubscribe to all of the mailing lists (in the future).

WE PAY YOU
In another breakaway move, AP will pay you in advertising credits for every person you successfully referral to our site and becomes a registered member. Keep in mind that membership is open to everyone across the world; however, the focus is Atlantic Canadians. So, how much do we pay you? We pay an incredible $25.00 in advertising for every single person who successfully becomes a member you referral. You simply need to logon to your profile page and click "My Invites" and start inviting people.  Bike Shops, organizers, provincial cycling associations can all work towards.  Simply need to have one or more people associated with the organization to as as the person to send the referrals and go from there.
